Family-owned commercial property company, Bruntwood, has revealed plans to redevelop Cornwall Buildings, renovating the entire ground and third floors of the Newhall Street property.

The ground floor of the Grade II listed building, situated in the heart of the Colmore Business District, will feature a business lounge, individual work areas available for hot-desking and three meeting rooms, open to existing customers and those looking to book by the hour.

Rob Valentine, head of the Bruntwood Birmingham office, said: “The way in which businesses are working is constantly evolving, with less demand for fixed desks but more flexible working spaces, which we will be able to offer with the new lounge and hot desk area, adding a much sought after amenity to the building.

“The first and second floors have recently been refurbished, and with the third floor currently being updated, the entire building will offer high quality workspace to meet fresh demand in the city centre.

“The history and character of this building will be accentuated through our new designs and will offer something different to the more modern spaces in the Colmore Business District.”

Cornwall Buildings totals 19,381 sq. ft. and is wholly comprised of serviced offices, and with the addition of the facilities on the third floor, the number of workstations will increase from 227 to 262.

Work has already started on the redevelopment and is due to be completed by July 2016.
