Bruntwood Works and BrewDog have announced plans to transform the Fountain Street area of Manchester city centre with the opening of a new bar and restaurant.

BrewDog’s third Manchester site will open in Spring 2021 and will be situated in Bruntwood Works’ Bloc building (formerly Lowry House) opposite Primark.

BrewDog will be transforming the ground floor, creating a 3,512 sq ft bar and restaurant featuring a large outdoor terrace with an incredible 28 taps of fresh draft beer.

As part of this transformation, there is also an ambition to open the UK’s first bespoke BrewDog hotel. Planning has been submitted to Manchester City Council for an 18 bedroom ‘Beer Hotel’ to open above the bar in summer 2021. The BrewDog DogHouse Manchester will combine a memorable hotel experience with amazing craft beer.

This comes in addition to BrewDog’s other game-changing hotels including DogHouse Columbus, Ohio (recently named one of the 100 best places on the planet by TIME magazine) and the BrewDog Kennels in Aberdeen.

    Room features include:

    - A welcome Punk IPA beer on check-in

    - The option to order BrewDog food delivered to the room

    - Fresh draft beer from the BrewDog bar to the room via a super-fresh Crowler delivery

    - A record player, selection of vinyl and guitar in every room

    - Brompton rental bikes available to explore Manchester city centre

    - Full Simba sleep experience with super comfortable mattresses, duvets and pillows

-All rooms dog friendly with dog beds and treats for canines

    - BrewDog’s legendary Shower Beers available from an in-shower fridge!

Bruntwood Works’ transformation of Bloc is part of the property provider’s £50m Pioneer programme, which will see buildings around the city reshaped into forward-thinking workspaces that offer innovative designs, individuality, flexibility, increased productivity and community.

Partnerships with brands like BrewDog, and more to be announced including a local, independent coffee shop, will create a vibrant neighbourhood for the immediate workspace customers and the wider community at Bloc.

Chris Middleton, Retail & Leisure Manager at Bruntwood Works said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with BrewDog as part of our plans to transform this area of Manchester. It is an iconic, trailblazing brand with whom we share many of the same goals in terms of our sustainable and community driven ethos. Together we’ll be creating a destination in this part of the city – transforming a thoroughfare from the Northern Quarter to the Civic Quarter into a destination in its own right.”

BrewDog Captain and co-founder, James Watt, commented: "We firmly believe that where you stay in a city should be your home from home so we are bringing BrewDog and our passion for great beer to life at BrewDog DogHouse Manchester. Manchester is an incredible city with awesome beer, which is why we want to have the ultimate in beer accommodation waiting for you."
