Bruntwood Works, in partnership with Graffiti Spirits Group (GSG), are bringing a brand new restaurant, bar and coffee shop to Liverpool as part of the transformational re-imagining of the iconic Plaza building. ‘The Plaza Restaurant and Bar’ is set to open in Summer 2021, creating a flagship eating and drinking destination for the wider commercial district and the city of Liverpool.

A destination all of its own, The Plaza Restaurant and Bar will be taking over the ground floor space of the city’s landmark building creating a transformational arrival experience and putting lifestyle and wellbeing firmly at the centre of the working day.

It will include a restaurant, bar and coffee shop operated by renowned Liverpool hospitality brand GSG - the group behind Duke Street Food and Drink Market, Bold Street Coffee, Salt Dog Slim's and 81 Ltd.

A large, communal island bar will be at the heart of the destination. Central to the room, it will be a welcoming hub for the building, with an evolving day-to-night pace, perfect for enjoying a coffee or smoothie in the morning or sipping cocktails with colleagues after a long day. There’ll be a wide, varied and local beer list, as well as a considered and expertly curated wine list, featuring predominantly vegan wines plus a large range of organic and biodynamic varieties.

The restaurant space is set to be a brand new concept for the GSG team. Guests can expect a relaxed, all-day brasserie dining experience including breakfast and brunch where modern European dishes sit alongside classic British favourites. Quality, expertly sourced ingredients will be used throughout to create a first class menu from breakfast through to dinner.

Complementing the bar and restaurant will be Graffiti Spirits Group’s much-loved Bold Street Coffee brand. Here, guests will be able to pick up all the classic Bold Street favourites - from breakfast and brunch (including their “butties, bakes and buoys”) to an extensive grab and go offering. A pop-up retail space hosted by independent brands will also be in situ.

The Plaza has held an iconic spot on Liverpool’s skyline since 1965, and is currently in the midst of being re-imagined by Bruntwood Works via a major £3m transformation to create a Pioneer workspace environment that’s designed to build and enhance community connection.

The design-led approach at The Plaza will blend work and lifestyle to transform the amenities and experience for the building’s community and guests. Nodding back to the spirit and aspirations of the 1960s, the bold and expressive interiors have been designed to evoke a sense of action encouraging collaboration, community and productivity.

This latest transformation is part of Bruntwood Works’ £50m Pioneer programme - the scheme that creates forward-thinking workspaces centred on six key pillars: biophilia, art, sustainability, wellness, amenity and technology - and it marks Bruntwood Works’ first Pioneer building in Liverpool.
