Turning passions into profits is at the core of a new podcast series from Bruntwood Works, created to inspire future entrepreneurs in pursuit of their business goals.

Launching this week, Bruntwood Works Presents… aims to offer start-ups and SMEs advice on how to build a successful brand, with insight from a selection of business owners who are at the top of their game.

The series, which has been created in conjunction with business support extraordinaires Enterprise Nation (EN), features guests from across the digital, creative, hospitality and retail sectors, offering would-be entrepreneurs the chance to get vital tips and hacks for success.

Hosted by EN founder Emma Jones MBE, Bruntwood Works Presents currently has a trio of podcasts available, with plans to add further instalments due later in the year.

Among those taking part is John Gyngell, co-founder of Leeds-based brewery and tap room North Brewing Co, who turned his dream of making his own beer into a reality in 2015.

Discussing the early days of the company, he said: “Having lived in Manchester for a while, I noticed they had really taken inspiration from the bar scene in Europe, but Leeds didn’t have that yet. So, setting up the business was more a matter of us creating somewhere for us to go and enjoy to begin with, later developing into a business concept.”

Also taking part in the launch episodes are Rimi Thapar, founder of vegan food brand Eat Love Raw, and Will Roberts and Adam Davies, co-founders of Pixelbeard who engineer mobile-first digital products.

Ciara Keeling, CEO of Bruntwood Works, said: “One of our main aims is to help and support businesses to grow with us and build a successful future.

“Our ethos is based on building communities of like-minded individuals to fuel collaboration, so this series is all about some of the fantastic and successful businesses within our community, sharing their expertise and inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs and rising businesses.”

As part of the series, guests discuss how they started their business and the challenges they met along the way, along with their strategies for finding and retaining the right talent and also what the future holds.

Emma Jones MBE said: “We’re thrilled to be working alongside Bruntwood Works for this series of podcasts – we’ve spoken to some truly inspirational business owners, who each have their own unique story to tell and reasons for setting up their enterprise.

“Successful businesses have hard-working, dedicated people at their core and I’m confident that the series will help trigger listeners’ inner entrepreneur!”
