The decision by Channel 4 to locate its new national HQ in Leeds has been described as a game changer for the city region. But moving to a new city is a huge challenge for any business, even those as big as Channel 4.

Just five months after announcing their relocation to Leeds, Channel 4 has now revealed that it will be taking space in the city this summer at Platform and West Gate, whilst the former nightclub, Majestic on City Square will be the base for its 200 colleagues come 2020.

The Channel 4 team is keen to start making connections in the city right away and we’re proud to be supporting their transition; helping their team move quickly and seamlessly as well as tap into the skills, talent and strengths Leeds has in the creative, media and tech sectors.

We’re delighted to welcome Channel 4 into the Bruntwood community. Their first step into Leeds will be at Platform; located directly above the city’s train station, it already has a fast growing reputation as the home of tech in Leeds. Offering opportunities for the city’s entrepreneurs and start-ups to collide and collaborate, It’s this ecosystem that will help Channel 4 to quickly shape connections across the city and the North.

The second phase will see them take 12,000 sq ft of space in West Gate. This hidden gem in the heart of Leeds is situated next to a rare city centre green space with Park Square only a stone’s throw away and is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment. With a new reception area, Les Mills fitness studio, showers and changing rooms all adding to the evolved workspace offering at the building.

Taking managed offices at both buildings gives Channel 4 the best of both worlds. This hybrid between serviced and leased workspace offers a bespoke package of services, allowing companies to take the hassle out of managing their office. This perfect balance provides the flexibility of a serviced office, along with the security and control of a leased space, but with no upfront costs.

The relocation of Channel 4 will be a huge opportunity for the Leeds City Region. Redressing the imbalance of the broadcasting sector being predominantly based in the capital, this move will benefit a new generation of talent hoping to enter the industry.
