    Hatch

Food, drink and retail destination, Hatch, is set to reopen on 12th April and is welcoming six new independent businesses to the Hatch neighbourhood. Plus there’s a whole season of live music and events to look forward to.

The new independent enterprises set to join the Hatch squad are an eclectic mix of brilliant businesses, with some born at the kitchen table during lockdown. They include Corner Slice Pizza serving up Detroit-style pizza pie; MorMor’s Mediterranean; Ate Days a Week and Biscuit and Brew. Plus there will also be a brand new gender-neutral nail bar and Hatch’s first lash & brow bar will be joining the family.

All the new businesses coming to Hatch will, as ever, be using the Hatch community to trial their latest concepts as part of their journey towards bricks and mortar.

The venue’s outdoor dining enclave, with cover provided by the iconic Mancunian Way, is a safe and social place to soak up those long-awaited catch ups… Hatch will be open seven days a week and has extended its opening hours due to popular demand from 11am - midnight, with 1am finish on the weekends. The venue will continue to operate its successful contactless operating system again with guests able to order from any of the street food traders on site with a tap of their mobile phone, and this time around Hatch is also taking table bookings. For the first time guests can reserve tables in advance by booking online.

With so much catching up to do this year, expect Hatch to be Manchester’s answer to the summer festival experience with a street food menu bursting at the seams with cuisine from around the globe. And it’s all served alongside an indie high street of unique shopping and inclusive, independent hair and beauty experiences.

From spring through to summer, Hatch has a stellar lineup of live music scheduled to take place every weekend too. Guests can expect an expertly curated programme to make magical memories under the Mancunian Way.

A programme of events is also in the pipeline, including a night of Candlelit Jazz, plus a special Glasto Weekender.

Reservations are now open for tables of up to six guests, and there will also be walk-ins available daily. In line with government guidance, Hatch will be operating table service only for parties of up to six or two households.

Welcome to the Summer of Hatch…

    NEW TRADERS SET TO OPEN:

    MORMOR
Independent, health conscious food inspired by the cuisines, cultures and colours of the levant (the region spanning the eastern Mediterranean). Vibrant, colourful dishes, bold in flavour and big on quality ingredients abound from award winning shawarma, to splendid shakshuka - this is a beautiful menu of dishes the likes of which you won’t find anywhere else in Manchester.

    OH MY CHEESECAKE
Independent dessert specialists and creators of the UK’s first ever cheesecake on a stick, Oh My Cheesecake are sweet treat alchemists founded in Lancashire and soon to be bringing the most decadent of desserts to Hatch. Expect everything from your wildest cheesecake-related dreams… From the S’mores Cheesecake Stick to the Nutella Double Chocolate Cookie Sandwich this is where your diet goals come undone (and it’s worth it).

1210 RECORD STORE AND LISTENING CAFE
In collaboration with independent record label Stutter and Twitch, Hatch is set to welcome its first ever vinyl store. A carefully curated collection of records will be available to browse, buy and listen to at Hatch’s new sociable music popup. With a vinyl jukebox and regular vinyl DJ nights planned, 1210 will be a new music cafe for the city.

    IT’S A NAIL THING
After a 10 year career in the charity sector, Stevie discovered she had a flair for nail art when she  took it up as a hobby during lockdown. She completed training in July and after lots of practice, joined a salon, working part time around her job. Now she has taken the leap to do her own thing full time and will be bringing gorgeous nail art and great chat to Hatch. Stevie is passionate about inclusive beauty. It’s a Nail Thing at Hatch will be an untraditional salon - a gender-neutral, inclusive space aiming to challenge and disrupt the way people experience the beauty sector.

    BISCUIT & BREW
“Biscuit & Brew” is a husband and wife team bringing their passion for sweet treats to life. Combining their love of brownies and cookies, the ultimate treat was created - the Brookie. Crisp on the outside with a soft and luxurious centre, the Brookie is the ultimate indulgence. Alongside this, they specialise in homemade bakes, including Cornflake Tarts, Biscoff Rocky Road and a luxurious Ginger Loaf Cake.

    BUTTERFLY EFFECT LASHES
The fantastically named Butterfly Effect Lashes will be Hatch’s first lash and brow bar. Owner Kate has been a lash technician for three years and is taking her first leap into independent business at Hatch, providing lashes, brows and planning to build up to more services such as hair extensions and makeup. Kate will also be hosting training days for aspiring eyelash technicians.

    ATE DAYS A WEEK
Ate Days A Week will be bringing inventive sandwiches, pies and ‘proper meals’ to Hatch. The menu combines fresh produce, quality ingredients and a love of hearty dishes as well as music. So look out for Not Naanteen Forever  (Lamb seekh kebabs, pickled chillies, pickled red cabbage, iceberg lettuce, hot sauce & mint yoghurt in a naan bread ) and Don’t Look Back in Banger (Grandad’s Sausages with triple cooked, hand cut chips & your choice of sauce).

The team opened at Hatch in November, but sadly their opening day was also their closing day as we entered tier 3 lockdown restrictions and Hatch was forced to shut the doors. Now the Ate Days team can’t wait to bring their constantly evolving menu back to Hatch for the summer.

    TOUCAN AVENUE
Hatch’s brand new tattoo flash gallery and private studio. Specially commissioned or chosen from the ‘flash walls’, Toucan Avenue create hand-painted body artwork, which is also available to purchase as a standalone piece of art too at this friendly, professional tattoo studio.

The new businesses will join Hatch favourites Fuku, Parmogeddon, Takk, Ol Brewery, Herbivorous, Hanoi 75, Grandad’s Sausages, KBOM, Abejas Tapas and  T’arricrii.

    LIVE MUSIC
The Hatch music stage will be hosting a steady stream of talent from April onwards, all delivered in line with government guidelines. From some of Manchester’s best-loved party bands and DJs to exciting emerging artists, music lovers can expect a stunning soundtrack to their summer at Hatch.
